The Sian Ka biosphere reserve in Tulum, Mexico has a surface area of 600,000 acres through it´s municipalities like Punta Allen, Tulum and the surroundings of the province of Quintana Roo. It is a marine and land reserve that is absolutely beautiful with it´s mayan cliffs that extend out to the sea.
This Biosphere Reserve is the main interest point in what Nature is concerned in Tulum, Mexico. It is part of the world heritage declared so by UNESCO. It is also one of the main paradises in the Caribbean Sea of Mexico.
Sian Ka´an in the Mayan language means "Doorway to heaven" and is lcoated in the Yucatan Penninsula in the province of Quintana Roo. This Reserve is also part of the coral reefs of the Caribbean which is the second largest in the world after the coral reefs in the west coast of Australia.
